These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AskReal’s website and related online offerings (the “Site”). Our mobile application may be subject to additional terms shown in the app or app store. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.
1. Who may use the Site
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Permitted use
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as reading articles and question lists.
You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or third-party rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users, or networks
- Introduce malware, overload infrastructure, or interfere with the Site’s operation
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically copy substantial portions of the Site (including for training machine learning models) without our prior written consent
- Remove or obscure legal notices, branding, or attributions
3. Not professional advice
Content on the Site (including conversation prompts and articles) is provided for entertainment and general information only. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice. Nothing on the Site creates a therapist–client or similar relationship. If you need professional help, consult a qualified provider. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
4. Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, layout, and software — are owned by AskReal or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for the limited right in Section 2, no rights are granted to you. “AskReal” and related marks are trademarks; do not use them without permission.
5. User content
If you submit content to us (for example through a contact form), you represent that you have the right to share it and you grant us a non-exclusive license to use, store, and process it to operate the Site and respond to you.
6. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
7. Disclaimers
THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASKREAL AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AND EMPLOYEES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SITE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50), IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING FOR THE SITE, THEN (B) APPLIES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify AskReal against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including breach of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the place where AskReal operates its business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive venue for disputes, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
12. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the Site.
